Beyond Meat Unveils Game-Changing Plant-Based Beyond Steak Filet
Beyond Meat, a company well known for its delicious plant-based products, has added an amazing new selection to its lineup. The new Beyond Steak Filet promises the taste and feel of a premium steak. With this new product, they hope to appeal to consumers who are not yet sold on the taste or texture of typical meat alternatives.
Mycelium Magic – The Science Behind Beyond Steak Filet’s Realistic Texture
The Beyond Steak Filet is different from Beyond Meat’s usual products. The company has turned to a fungi known as Mycelium to create a tender and juicy whole cut. This vegan-friendly product tastes and feels like a real steak. The new “meat” also contains fava bean protein and avocado oil, both of which add to the nutritional value. Each serving provides 28g of protein.

Inside Beyond Meat’s Culinary Innovation Steakhouse Experience
“We’re bringing something bold and inventive to the plant-forward scene with our Beyond Steak Filet – a protein crafted from plants that delivers the rich flavor and texture of a premium cut,” said Diana Stavaridis, Beyond Meat culinary director. “The avocado oil gives us that high smoke point we need for a beautiful sear and caramelization, locking in flavor and texture. This is all about delivering that classic steakhouse experience- without compromise.”
Beyond Steak Filet Wows at Expo West 2024
Earlier this year, a taste test of the new product at the Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, California, met with good reviews. One attendee, Alessandra Franco of media platform Green Queen, stated, “Beyond very much delivered on its promise of a steak that mirrors the texture, flavor, and experience of a premium USDA steak fillet. The mouthfeel, texture, and flavor were all spot on.”
Where to Try Beyond Steak Filet at Exclusive Restaurant Launches
The Beyond Steak Filet had a quiet debut earlier this month at Next Level Burger and Veggie on their All-American Vegan Menu, where it was served with broccoli and potatoes. Now, the tasty new mycelium-based cut is being served at New York City’s vegan restaurant, Ladybird, well-known for serving vegetable-forward dishes. Ladybird will offer the Beyond Steak Filet in a bao bun. The new product will also be featured at Boa Steakhouses in their new Club Room Style Steak Frites dish.
Beyond Meat has not disclosed any plans for retail release, but the Beyond Steak Filet is expected to arrive in more U.S. restaurants soon.
