EPCOT in Walt Disney World is well-known for its exceptional festivals throughout the year and there’s no better festival for plant-based food than the EPCOT International Flower and Garden festival. This year’s Flower and Garden Festival runs from February 28 to May 27, giving us almost three months to experience the beautiful floral displays and taste the creative and delicious food.

Every Vegan Option at EPCOT’s International Flower and Garden Festival
We taste-tested the vegan options available at the festival so we can share our thoughts on Disney’s food choices this year.
Florida Fresh Booth
Florida Strawberry Shortcake
At Florida Fresh in the walkway between World Showcase and Imagination!, you can enjoy the Florida Strawberry Shortcake. Delectable, fresh strawberries and smooth and fluffy plant-based whipped topping completed this delicious strawberry shortcake. It tasted delicious, but the cake was a little dense and dry. The Florida Strawberry Shortcake gets 3 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Lotus House in China
Pan-Fried Vegetable Dumplings
Lotus House in China served fantastic Pan-Fried Vegetable Dumplings with raw red onion, cabbage, carrots, and a savory, delicious sauce. Each serving comes with two dumplings. We liked this one so much that we went back for seconds. These dumplings get 5 out of 5 well-deserved Bumblebees.
Refreshment Outpost in Africa
Seasonal Fruit Parfait
Refreshment Outpost served this highly unique recipe. Sweet chili sauce tops mango Dole Whip in this interesting dish. Watermelon, pineapple, and mango chunks on the bottom rounded out the concoction. Each ingredient was good separately, but we were unsure what to think when they mixed. One taster liked it, stating it was “like nothing I’ve ever had before.” Our other taster was not sold at all. Ultimately, we gave the Seasonal Fruit Parfait 4 out of 5 Bumblebees. Give this one a try and let us know what you think.
Bauernmarkt: Farmer’s Market in Germany
Potato Pancakes
Bauernmarkt: Farmer’s Market in Germany served their familiar Potato Pancakes. A house-made applesauce topped these hash-brown-like pancakes. We prefer the plant-based sour cream topping offered at other festivals, but these were still quite tasty. We gave them 4 out of 5 Bumblebees.
La Islas Fresca
Impossible Jamaican Beef Patty
La Islas Fresca carries an Impossible Jamaican Beef Patty. You can smell the papaya syrup before you even taste it. It smells like a delicious sweet and sour sauce. The pastry shell was golden brown and smothered with papaya syrup. While the syrup tasted good, we were not impressed with the meat patty. If you are a former meat-eater, like many vegans, you will understand what we mean when we say the patty tasted like Vienna sausage or potted meat. We did not enjoy this dish and awarded it 1 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Coconut Tres Leches
La Isla Fresca redeemed itself with the Coconut Tres Leches. A whipped topping and toasted coconut shreds topped a light and flavorful vanilla cake soaked with oat, almond, and coconut milk. This treat was delicious. We gave it 4 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Hanami in Japan
Steam Bun
Hanami in Japan had an exquisite Steam Bun filled with vegetables and plant-based soy meat. This beautiful, sweet steam bun was bursting with flavor, and the plant-based meat was heavenly. We enjoyed this dish very much and would happily order it again. We gave it 4 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Refreshment Port
Plant-based Buffalo Chicken Tender Poutine
The Refreshment Port near Canada had a fantastic Plant-based Buffalo Chicken Tender Poutine. These plant-based chicken tenders and crispy potato barrels are coated with a vinegary, spicy buffalo sauce and topped with plant-based blue cheese crumbles. They were delicious with the ranch dipping sauce. It may not be considered an authentic poutine, but we enjoyed it and would love to try it again. The Plant-based Buffalo Chicken Tender Poutine gets 5 out of 5 Bumblebees from us.
Trowel and Trellis
Impossible Farmhouse Meatball
The Trowel and Trellis booth is located near Disney Traders. Here you will find the Impossible Farmhouse Meatball. This dish has one giant meatball on lentil bread with spinach, marinated vegetables, and a creamy herb aioli. It tasted too salty and greasy for our taste. We gave the Impossible Farmhouse Meatball 3 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Brunchcot
Avocado Toast
Brunchcot at World Discovery near Test Track serves Avocado Toast with marinated tomatoes and plant-based cheese crumbles on toasted ciabatta. The bread was too hard and crunchy. This snack had a beautiful presentation but was a little greasy. It is worth a try if you are an avocado lover. We gave it 2 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Swirled Showcase
Strawberry Basil Sorbet
Swirled Showcase can be found in the walkway between World Showcase and Imagination! The Strawberry Basil Sorbet is vegan if you skip the waffle cone. Ask for a cup instead. The artificial flavor was not our favorite, and we did not taste any basil. This one was not for us but may be great for others. We gave the Strawberry Basil Sorbet 3 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Primavera Kitchen in Italy
Arrabbiata (Modified, No Shrimp)
The Primavera Kitchen in Italy presents Arrabbiata. Spicy tomato sauce tops this pennette pasta. Be sure to request no shrimp. This entree tasted good, but we felt it was nothing special. We gave it 2 out of 5 Bumblebees.
EPCOT Farmer’s Feast
Grilled Street Corn on the Cob
EPCOT Farmer’s Feast at World Discovery near Test Track serves one of our favorite foods: Grilled Street Corn on the Cob. Cast members slather this with savory garlic spread and plant-based cheese. We did not leave a bite behind. Grilled Street Corn always receives 5 out of 5 Bumblebees from us.
Pineapple Promenade
Dole Whip
Of course, what festival is complete without a traditional Dole Whip? This tasty pineapple treat is a favorite staple always available throughout Disney parks. During the Flower and Garden Festival, you can find it at the Pineapple Promenade near Port of Entry. The original Dole Whip gets its usual 5 out of 5 Bumblebees but the lime only gets a 3 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Family-Friendly Events at EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival
The Garden Graze
Many of the plant-based items in the Flower and Garden festival are on the Garden Graze Menu. Each time you purchase one of these delicious items, give your Festival Passport to the cast member so they can add a stamp to the last page. After you have collected all your stamps, collect your prize at Pineapple Promenade near Port of Entry. This year’s award is a Lime DOLE Whip in a souvenir Garden Festival cup and a pack of wildflower seeds. The lime DOLE whip tasted slightly artificial, but the cup is adorable and a great souvenir. We were also excited to receive the seed packet to add to our garden at home.
Garden Rocks Concert Series
The Garden Rocks Concert Series delivers fun entertainment that complements the festival’s floral beauty and plant-based delights. Enjoy a perfect blend of nature and rhythm at the America Gardens Theatre. This year featured an impressive mix of iconic acts and fresh talents, including artists like Rick Springfield, Richard Marx, and The Pointer Sisters.
Enjoying Vegan Eats at Orlando Theme Parks
As you can see, Disney offered us many vegan dishes during this year’s Flower and Garden Festival. The delicious food, along with the gorgeous gardens and topiaries, made for a fantastic day. We were pretty pleased with the treats available to us. We can’t wait to see what Disney has up its sleeve for the next festival.
