Join the Inspiring Global MeatOut Movement on March 20

MeatOut has reached people worldwide for nearly forty years through educational events, government proclamations, and plant-based food samples. Farm Animal Rights Movement (FARM) created MeatOut in 1985. FARM is the first animal rights organization in the nation, to educate people on the health advantages and environmental benefits of a plant-based diet as well as the impact on animals farmed for food.

Spring into Meatout

March 20th is the first day of spring, but it is also the annual observance, MeatOut. Advocates from all 50 states plus 24 other countries take this day to offer educational events, promote plant-based eating, and encourage and challenge everyone around the world to forego meat for just one day.

If the world skipped meat for one day, we would save thousands of innocent lives. The added bonus is that a fraction of the participants may decide they could live without meat for one more day or perhaps even the rest of their lives. More and more people across the globe are switching to plant-based diets. Some of the significant motivators are health and environmental concerns and issues regarding how humanity treat animals.

How to Participate for MeatOut

Meatout is the perfect opportunity to try plant-based foods and get involved in actions for animals. Hand out flyers, host an event, or give out free vegan-friendly samples. Additionally, take the Meatout Plus One challenge, or share some graphics and posts on social media of your plant-based meals. It’s as easy as vegan pie. Pledge at least one day of eating vegan meals, share the experience, and enjoy delicious plant-based food.

MeatOut Proclamations

Is your city participating in MeatOut on March 20? It may be too late for this year, but it’s never too early to encourage your mayor to join many other cities nationwide in making the MeatOut proclamation for MeatOut for the next event. Let us know in the comments how your city is celebrating MeatOut Day.
