Trader Joe’s has confirmed that their Vegan Turkey Roast is being permanently discontinued. Not everyone is happy about this development. Many customers have taken to social media to voice their opinion.  

No More Trader Joe’s Vegan Turkey Roast

Customers loved the delicious Turkey-less Stuffed Roast with Gravy so much that it continually sold out very quickly every year. Yet, Trader Joe’s claims that the product was not meeting expectations, leaving many shoppers confused. One Instagram commenter said, “How could it not meet expectations when the biggest complaint every year was how fast it sold out?”  

The popular Turkey-less Stuffed Roast is not the only vegan product that has been phased out. Many popular items have been taken off the shelves recently, such as the pea protein burger and their veggie meatballs.  One comment was, “This is the 6th item that has been discontinued in the last year that was a favorite.”

Some worry that they will eventually carry no good vegan products. This raises plenty of questions about which vegan products will be next on the chopping block and which of those will be permanent.  

Discontinued Vegan Products at Trader Joe’s

Trader Joe’s is known for rotating their products on and off the shelf throughout the year. Items will be temporarily removed but will be back during their appropriate season. Sadly, this may not be the case for many of our favorite products. Trader Joe’s website has this to say about discontinued products, “Our mission is to bring you the best quality products at the best prices. To do this, we have to manage our store space smartly. If a product is not earning its spot on our shelves, then we discontinue it to make room for something new.”

Will we ever see the Turkey-less Stuffed Roast again? One can only hope that they will change their minds about this one. On the Trader Joe’s website, you can voice your opinion on this and other favorite products. This does not guarantee that the product will be returned to the shelves, but they do take customer requests into account. 

Alternatives to Trader Joe’s Vegan Turkey Roast

Trader Joe’s has not offered any real insight into why this popular product has been discontinued. Some store managers have alluded to potential supply chain issues and to the idea that the chain is unhappy with the quality or taste of the Vegan Turkey Roast.

There are also mentions that a better replacement may become available next year in 2024, but that does little to appease customers who were planning on buying the dish for the holiday season this year.
