Even when traveling to a galaxy far, far away you still need to eat. Eating vegan across the galaxy can be challenging, but we are here to help. We tried some vegan foods at Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios just in time for the annual May the 4th Star Wars celebrations that are sure to keep you satiated during your travels. Here are our thoughts on some vegan dishes at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
Ronto Roasters Vegan Options
Ronto Roasters is a quick serve restaurant with three vegan dishes to choose from, including an option for breakfast. We tried each one.
The Triple Suns Breakfast Wrap comes with plant-based egg, smoky chickpea-onion slaw, and roasted tomato sauce on a grilled flatbread. The flatbread had a robust, smoky flavor. The wrap was a little bland even though it had a spicy dressing with vinegar notes. You can only order the Triple Suns Breakfast Wrap during breakfast hours. We gave it 3 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Our Zuchii Wrap at Ronto Roasters consisted of a giant grilled zucchini wedge, smoky chickpeas, shredded carrots, garlic-tahini sauce, and cilantro on grilled pita bread. The sauce was on the spicy side, so we drank a lot of water while we were eating it. We dipped ours in ranch and added some barbecue sauce. The Zuchii Wrap is only available for lunch. We gave it 3 out of 5 Bumblebees.
The last dish we tried at Ronto Roasters was the Andoan Fruit with Muja Sauce. A spicy tamarind sauce topped this selection of fruit and veggie sticks, which had dragon fruit, pineapple, jicama, cucumber, and watermelon. The fruit was fresh and tasty, but we did not enjoy the sauce. This one gets 2 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Oga’s Cantina
Oga’s Cantina offers both alcoholic and non-alcoholic concoctions. Many options are vegan. You should be aware that some drinks that appear vegan at first glance may have honey. Verify with your server when you order. We could not try them all, but we enjoyed the ones we tasted.
The Fuzzy Tauntaun is a tingly orange juice and peach-flavored drink that tastes like a fuzzy navel. It has Ketel One Botanical Peach and Orange Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps Liqueur, orange juice with tangerine, and pure cane sugar. What makes this drink special is the ‘Buzz Button Tingling’ Foam topping. Your tongue will literally be tingling after this drink. We gave this one 5 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Jabba Juice is a tasty, citrusy fruit punch with no alcohol. It is made with Simply Orange with pineapple, kiwi, cantaloupe, and delicious, gelatin-free blueberry popping pearls. We gave this fruity drink 5 out of 5 Bumblebees.
The last thing we tried at Oga’s was the Batuu Bits. An excellent, spiced dip accompanies these delicious, crispy, freeze-dried veggies. We loved this dish, but there was not enough dip to last through the serving of vegetables. For that reason, we gave the Batuu Bits 4 out of 5 Bumblebees. We will be trying these again.
Other vegan drinks at Oga’s Cantina that we could not try were The Outer Rim and the Yub Nub. The Blue Bantha is vegan if you order it without the cookie.
The Outer Rim is made with Patron Silver Tequila, Stirrings Pomegranate Liqueur, lime juice, pure cane sugar, black salt, and exotic fruit puree. It is referred to as “an intergalactic margarita.”
Yub Nub is made with Malibu Pineapple Rum, Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, citrus juices, and passion fruit. It is served in a Souvenir Endor mug and costs $46.00.
The Blue Bantha is chilled Blue Milk. Be sure to order it without the cookie. You could also pick up some Blue Milk at the Milk Stand instead.
Docking Bay 7 and Cargo
Docking Bay 7 and Cargo has three vegan dishes and a side to choose from, two of those dishes being on the kid’s menu.
The Felucian Kefta and Hummus Garden Spread at Docking Bay 7 and Cargo is one of our favorites. The Hummus Garden Spread has toasted bread strips, lettuce, baby tomatoes, cauliflower, string beans, and cucumbers with herb hummus dip. The Felucian Kefta has Impossible meatballs, herb hummus spread, and tomato-cucumber relish served with pita bread. The hummus is lightly spicy, garlicky, and delicious. These two dishes come together. We gave each 5 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Also, at Docking Bay 7 and Cargo are the Ithorian Pasta Rings. This penne pasta comes topped with a plant-based meat marinara sauce. The side was roasted broccoli. It was a little bland but is perfect for the little ones. Choose water instead of milk to keep the dish vegan. We gave Ithorian Pasta Rings 3 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Another tasty treat on Docking Bay 7 and Cargo is the Takodana Veggie Dipper. This dish is featured on the kids menu and comes with black bean hummus, edible soil with nuts, chilled dipping vegetables, and multigrain crisps. It is served with a side of vegan ranch dressing. Choose water to complete your vegan meal. This one gets 4 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Finally, Docking Bay 7 and Cargo has delicious yucca fries. These seasoned fries are topped with cilantro and each serving has four fries. We gave these fries 4 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Kat Saka’s Kettle
Finally, we have Kat Saka’s Kettle, where you can order delicious popcorn.
The Outpost Popcorn Mix is a perfect sweet, spicy, and savory blend. We gave this snack 5 out of 5 Bumblebees.
The Buttered Blue Grains taste like traditional buttered popcorn, but they are blue. We gave this fun treat 5 out of 5 Bumblebees.
Milk Stand
The thirsty traveler can find some tasty refreshments at the Milk Stand. The Blue Milk from Star Wars: A New Hope and Green Milk from Star Wars: The Last Jedi were surprising and unexpected. These blends of coconut and rice milk boast fruity tropical flavors. The delicious slushes taste more like candy than milk. You can also order them with tequila or rum. We gave both 5 out of 5 bumblebees.
